Winter walk day three

I am grateful for Torchwood. I want to squee, very very loudly, and show you all that fanboys can outsquee fangirls anyday, but I don't want to post spoilers, so I'm just gonna bounce happily and annoy my child.

I am grateful for the snow flurry we had earlier, because it made baby girl so, so very happy.

And I'm grateful for broccoli, cheese and potato soup on a cold winter night, which I'm going to cook right now.

Well, I don't really have a recipe. I sautee some onion and garlic in butter in the stock pot, then add canned stock to the pot and bring to a boil. Throw in about four cups of peeled red potatoes, cook until fork soft, then throw in a bag of frozen broccoli.Add salt, pepper, and I toss in a bay leaf. Cook until tender, then add two cups of milk and a cup of cheddar jack cheese, simmer about fifteen minutes, take out two cups of soup and puree in blender, add back to pot and throw some more cheese on top and chow down :-)
