I have spotty phone and internet right now, so I hope this post goes through.

As Mars told you all, we are fine, and may the Creator bless the folks at Entergy for getting our power back last night.

I don't know what to say about New Orleans and the other coastal areas of Louisiana. The destruction is getting worse as the underground pumps fail, the levees crack, and builds slowly succumb to the immense pressure of all that water. Louisiana will never be the same. Thank you all for your prayers and love. If I start one of those fic-a-thons for donations to the Red Cross, would anyone be interested in participating?

Thanks for reporting in, my friend. I am so glad you guys are ok. I've been watching the coverage at points today and the devastation is just heartbreaking. Bless everyone involved in this awful situation. My prayers are with all of you.

I just told one of my co-workers--who's from NO--that the French Quarter was flooding now. (And, she somehow hadn't heard that I-10 had all but collapsed.) She's in complete shock.

My favorite vacation in recent years had been the week we spent in southern Louisiana prior to Christmas a couple of years back. It was so beautiful down there.
